Film Screening: Barang Panas / Hot Stuff

Join us for this spring’s GETSEA Simulcast Film Screening! As part of this event, GETSEA will be hosting the AIFIS film award winning duo Dandhy Laksono (Director) and Cypri Dale (Producer) and screening their documentary Barang Panas (Hot Stuff). The filmmakers will join us live from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as screening locations around the world will watch the film together and connect via Zoom for a post-screening discussion.
This film is part of a trio of interconnected films (Hot Stuff, Sexy Killers, and Bloody Nickel) that the filmmakers have made that delve into energy policies in Indonesia, corporate ties to those policies, and their detrimental effects on local populations.
This film is provided through the Graduate Education and Training in Southeast Asian Studies (GETSEA) consortium.
